Meet Atef Ewida, the heart and soul behind St. Honoré Sourdough Bakery! With a smile that truly brightens your day, Atef is not just our founder, but a beloved and hands-on presence who brings warmth and passion to our bakery every single day.

Atef, alongside his business partner, first opened St. Honoré Bakery in North Sydney in 1999. He poured countless hours into baking the wide array of healthy, quality breads, pastries, savouries, and cakes, as well as the delicious breakfast and lunch options that our classic French bakery is known for. In fact, St. Honoré was the first bakery in North Sydney to offer bread, pastries, pies, and coffee around the clock, earning us the affectionate nickname "the bakery that never sleeps" from our customers. It was a truly exciting time for him!

Atef credits the bakery's ongoing success to two key ingredients: the exceptional quality of our products and our unwavering commitment to good customer service. He truly believes in keeping our customers happy, noting that it's why they keep coming back. He's always guiding his staff to focus on the details, even telling them to contact him anytime if there's an unhappy customer or supplier. This dedication extends to his team as well, as he strives to maintain solid relationships with his employees.

Atef's passion for his business and his community is truly visible, and it's no wonder he was honored as Businessperson of the Year at the North Shore Local Business Awards. While he humbly didn't expect to win, suspecting it might have been his "fantastic customers" who nominated him, he was deeply honored. He's incredibly grateful, sharing his thanks with "all of his customers, all of the North Shore community, and all his staff".
